MANILA, Philippines - Cebu Pacific Air, Sabah Tourism Board and the Philippine STAR named Don and Lourdes Balboa of Antipolo City as the winners of the “It’s Kota Be Love†promo. The couple’s romantic love story won them a second honeymoon in Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia, besting 14 other finalists from all over the country.
Lourdes used to work for a luxury cruise ship favored by newlyweds. When she and Don got married 10 years ago, they didn’t get to experience what the privileged couples had, due to financial constraints. Don joined the “It’s Kota Be Love†promo in hopes of taking Lourdes on the honeymoon of their dreams.
“Traveling is a great way for couples to bond and get to know each other better. Kota Kinabalu is an ideal setting for that, with its serene island life, gorgeous flora and fauna and extreme adventure options. We look forward to hearing Don and Lourdes’ travel stories when they get back from Kota Kinabalu,†said Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific vice president for marketing and distribution.
Don and Lourdes will embark on a memorable romantic getaway — two roundtrip Cebu Pacific tickets to Kota Kinabalu and a four-day/three-night Sabah Tourism Board honeymoon package — in the honeymoon-themed Deluxe Sea View room in Sutera Harbour Resort. The 384-acre Sutera Harbor Resort is strategically nestled between the South China Sea and a vast land of flora and fauna, making it a jump-off point to nearby attractions and islands.
A candlelit dinner awaits them at Ferdinand’s Restaurant at the Magellan Sutera Resort. Ferdinand’s relaxing ambience and world-class Italian cuisine set the perfect honeymoon mood throughout the couple’s stay at the island paradise.
A visit to the crescent-shaped Manukan Island, which is part of the Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park, is a must as the island is teeming with marine life and boasts crystal-clear waters, perfect for lounging under the sun and snorkeling.
At the Mandara Spa, Don and Lourdes can avail of a relaxing Balinese massage, which involves a combination of techniques, including acupressure, reflexology and aromatherapy into one session.
“Kota Kinabalu’s unhurried pace with a breathtaking view of Mount Kinabalu definitely warms the heart with love and sweet romance, making it the perfect destination for that second honeymoon,†said Gordon Yapp, deputy general manager of the Sabah Tourism Board.
Cebu Pacific Air offers thrice weekly flights to Kota Kinabalu from Manila, for as low as P1,099.
