Roar good time with Tigerair

MANILA, Philippines - “We set ourselves differently from other low-cost carriers in terms of safety and reliability. We associate ourselves to this strength and capability by adopting the Tiger Airways brand in our marketing portal, liveries, and the pursuit of customer satisfaction,” says Tiger Airways Philippines president and CEO Olive Ramos.

Tigerair, Asia-Pacific’s leading value-for-money airline, has announced during its inaugural flight that it would aim for leadership by pioneering target destinations and expanding its route network by offering safe and reliable flights and sincere service to its passengers.

“We are the first commercial airline to fly direct between Kalibo and Singapore. The carrier also flies to local destinations such as Clark, Bacolod, Cebu, Iloilo, Tacloban, and Puerto Princesa, and international destinations such as Bangkok and Hong Kong, and expect more as we develop more routes to serve you better,” Ramos says.

Committed to making a difference in the low-cost carrier business, Tigerair adheres to its commitment in promoting services beyond par by providing easy access, seamless travel process, and minimal delays to its customers.

Recently, Tigerair forged a partnership with Cashsense Inc., an over-the-counter payment facility which allows online customers of Tigerair to book for their flights online but pay in cash via 7-11 convenience stores or M. Lhullier outlets nationwide. This payment option went live for customers last Aug. 1.

As a testament to providing services beyond par, Tigerair, through its customer-centric and highly trained cabin crew and pilots, has earned the respect of many of its passengers. It has received various messages via the social media and letters from customers. One such special letter came from 11-year-old sixth grader Nicole Anne Mabulay Bautista, daughter of Ron Bautista, community affairs officer II of the Kalibo municipal government, and Annie Lee Bautista, news director of RGMA Kalibo. She is a consistent honor student of Infant Jesus Academy in Kalibo and Tigerair is thankful that it made her plane ride to Singapore an unforgettable experience.   Here’s her story:

Singapore galore

By Nicole Anne M. Bautista

I am one of the fortunate people who was given the chance to ride in the first-ever Kalibo-to-Singapore trip of Tiger Air.

I was very delighted when I heard that my mother and I will go to Singapore. This is a rare opportunity, because going outside the country is very expensive for us. I couldn’t explain my excitement; I couldn’t even sleep and eat properly.

I wondered and became interested when I heard that our airline will be Tigerair. I haven’t heard about Tiger Airways before. I asked my mom about it and she told me that it would be the first trip of Tigerair from Kalibo to Singapore. I became more interested.

After my long… long wait, the time has come for us to go. I was beaming with happiness. While boarding the plane, I noticed that the flight attendants of the airline were fresh looking and beautiful. The plane was fantastic! I have motion sickness all the time but in our flight with Tiger Airways I felt very comfortable. I felt safe because the plane flew smoothly not like other planes I’ve ridden on before.

At last, we reached the airport. While waiting to go down, a flight attendant talked to me and I was really entertained. She was so kind. When it’s time to go down, she said, “Enjoy your trip!” I said, “I will.”

The Changi Airport was soooo big and beautiful. It looks like a mall! When we fetched a taxi, my mom went in to sit in front. I shouted, “Ma, that’s the driver’s seat! We all laughed especially when the driver said, “Are you trying to hijack my car?” The driver was so nice to us. He joked around and told us nice things about Singapore.

We went to many places in our Singapore trip. Our first destination was Gardens by the Bay. I couldn’t believe that the flowers there were real! Too beautiful that I was amazed to discover that those are not artificial flowers but real ones. We also went to Marina Bay Sands. I was surprised when I saw that the swimming pool was on the 57th floor! We also went to Orchard where there are lots of shopping malls.

The next day, we went to Resorts World Singapore, where Universal Studios is located. It was nice. The Universal Studios was heaven for kids like me! The rides and shows were really fun! We also went to the Merlion, the trademark of Singapore. We also rode the cable car. I could see the whole Singapore up there! Lastly, we went to the Night Safari where I enjoyed a lot. I saw lions, tigers, elephants and whoa!!! They were very near! I felt like I was hearing them breathe.

My trip to Singapore was very short yet memorable. It’s just like a dream… yes, I want to think it’s just a dream so I could sleep again and continue my journey in Singapore.

“We aim to be the leading airline and travel partner connecting Filipinos to the rest of the country and across the Asia-Pacific. We strongly believe that the travel experience begins at the airport — from the check-in process to leading you to your seat — and flying you smoothly to your destination is what Tigerair is all about,” Ramos says.

Your travels will surely be a roaring good time when you fly with Tiger Air Philippines because you know you are flying with the best.
