MANILA, Philippines - Miso-Ten, the newest Japanese restaurant, brings to Manila the soulful pleasure of a big, steamy bowl of ramen paired with perfect, golden tempura.
The name “Miso-Ten†is from the delicious coming together of its house specialties: miso ramen and tendon (tempura over rice) — two classic Japanese dishes in a variety of delicious ways, each made with only the best ingredients, and carefully prepared with the utmost respect for tradition.
The essence of Miso-Ten ramen is the dedication that goes into making a perfect bowl of noodle soup, whether one of its house offerings or something crafted on your own, with its customizable order form.
All these begin with the high standards in choosing the right ingredients, the careful technique of making fresh noodles, and the many hours of delicately simmering the broth.
While for the tempura, the core is the intuition that guides its process — from choosing the freshest seafood, the light-handed way of preparing and cooking to produce the most ethereal crisp, even to formulating Miso-Ten’s distinct house tempura sauce.
In essence, ramen is noodles and soup, a well-loved Japanese dish enriched by centuries of tradition. The fragrant steam wafting up to meet one’s nose, the warm, richly flavored broth flooding one’s tongue, the heartiness of the firm noodles curling in the mouth, this experience is at the heart of Japanese ramen, and it is this same pleasure served at Miso-Ten for all diners.
A food technologist, Iida-san of the Chiba Shoyu company has made it his life’s work to perfect his passion. He has taken natural ingredients grown amid the lush greenery and clear waters of Chiba prefecture to especially craft a unique blend of miso that captures traditional taste and excellent flavor, exclusive to Miso-Ten.
This precious miso is then blended with Miso-Ten ramen broth, carefully simmered for hours from only premium ingredients, infusing it with layers of flavor. Noodles are handmade from imported flour and made fresh every day, achieving that uniquely firm bite.
Must-try are the Miso-Ten original and the Miso-Ten spicy — made with its signature miso broth, topped with the tenderest pork, choice vegetables and organic egg. The Tan-Tan Mien is another favorite, topped with ground pork, fresh veggies, organic egg, and miso soup.
Miso-Ten also has the best tempura in town. Starting with a particularly formulated batter for maximum crispness and lightness, then only the freshest, plumpest black tiger prawns — never flattened, unlike others — and carefully cooked in specially formulated premium oil. From the kitchen emerges perfect golden tempura that’s delicately crispy on the outside and holding sweet, juicy shrimp within.
Relish a Miso-Ten original with its distinctive house tempura sauce, poured over tendon, made of particularly blended secret ingredients that bring a sweet, savory deliciousness to the dining experience.
