MANILA, Philippines - The College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management (CITHM) of the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU), Manila Campus, recently sponsored the travel of three of its top-performing tourism students to Kuala Lumpur to attend the Pacific Area Travel Association’s (PATA) Youth Forum.
Hosted by the Division of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts of Taylor’s University in Malaysia, the one-day forum had the theme “Building the Business Beyond Profits, Creating Social and Environmental Value.”
The LPU delegation, the only representative from the Philippines, was composed of tourism students Adrienne Cerwin Caliboso, Ryan Cedric Flores, and Kevin Yap, who are all exemplary students based on their academic performance and extra-curricular activities.
Accompanied by CITHM faculty member Sally Limgenco, the group participated in all the working sessions, which they found timely for today’s tourism trends as these involved the “green economy,” innovations in events, social tourism, and tourism education.
