MANILA, Philippines - Tia Maria’s, the country’s pioneer and leader in Tex-Mex food, celebrates its 20th anniversary this month with exciting treats.
Established on April 16, 1990, Tia Maria’s, known as Aunt Mary’s in the late 70s, is famous for its delicious super sampler with hefty portions of spareribs, quesadilla, Mexican pizza, spicy Buffalo wings, cheese & jalapeño flautas, taquitos, and nachos. For something lighter, there is also the seafood platter that’s got piles of calamares fritos, shrimps Acapulco, and nacho chips, served with fresh salsa.
Head on at the Cantina SM Mall of Asia today, April 18 as they hold a Mexigras (Mexican street dance parade) with Mexican dancers and mascots while having product samplings in store. Cantina is a smaller version of Tia Maria’s, which offers some value meals, including carnitas, chicken peri-peri, carne asada, pollo strips, chorizo, grilled liempo, and pork barbecue.
Tia Maria’s has branches at Festival Supermall, Alabang and Remedios, Malate. Cantina restaurants are at Katipunan, De La Rosa Makati carpark, and SM Mall of Asia.
