MANILA, Philippines - Dusit Thani Manila, in partnership with the Royal Thai Embassy, presents a timely fundraising initiative as it marks the annual commemoration of the much-coveted Loy Krathong festival.
Until Nov. 8, in lieu of the usual grand celebration of Thailand’s most picturesque festival of lights, diners are instead encouraged to participate in a symbolic ritual of candle-lighting and solemn prayer for Filipinos who were displaced by the recent spate of typhoons.
At the same time, the Royal Thai Benjarong is presenting a Loy Krathong special set menu priced at P1,500 net, of which P100 will be donated to the calamity drive of the Royal Thai Embassy.
The special four-course set menu includes Khong Wang Sam Kasat (three kinds of appetizers), Gung Hom Sabai (deep-fried prawns wrapped in egg noodle), Miang Takhai Krathong Thong (tuna flakes in pastry cup), and Kleuy Tiew Luy Suan (pork and vegetable wrapped in fresh rice paper) for appetizer; Tom Yum Gung (hot and sour prawn soup); a choice of Gai Kee Mao (chicken with string beans, young corn, tomato, chili and basil), Phad Nor Mai Sod Gung (stir-fried asparagus with prawn) or Pla Savoey (crispy lapu-lapu fish fillet in yellow curry sauce) with Jasmine rice for the main entrée; and Med Kranoon (yellow mongo, coconut, sugar and egg yolk) or Kra Nom Chan (rice flour, sugar and coconut milk) for dessert.
