The grandest Thai puppet show at Dusit Thani Manila

MANILA, Philippines - In partnership with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Dusit Thani Manila presents Bangkok-based Aksra Theatre and its exquisite performances of traditional Thai puppetry. Aiming to preserve this dying art form for the future generations, the group shows virtuoso displays of puppetry with each puppet being operated by three puppeteers using finer and more complex techniques than most puppet dramas. Each puppet requires the synchronized efforts of three puppeteers who control the puppet’s spindle, arms and legs to produce highly animated, graceful and life-like movements.

This budding new troupe of traditional Thai puppeteers learned the art of traditional Thai puppetry by Thailand’s legendary puppet master, Sakorn Yangkhiawsod, the Thai kingdom’s distinguished National Artist in the Performing Arts.

This world-class performance showcasing Thailand’s cultural and dramatic heritage will be shown live while guests take pleasure in authentic Thai cuisine at the Royal Thai Restaurant Benjarong on Feb. 26 and 28 from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. with a minimum consumable fee of P750 net and on its finale performance on March 1 from 6 p.m.–10 p.m. with a minimum consumable fee of P850 net per person.
