MBC girds for 'Paskong Pinoy' at the Star City

Manila Broadcasting Co. delivers its Yuletide cheer with elements of the traditional Filipino Christmas when Paskong Pinoy gets off the ground at the Star City from Dec. 9 to 13.

Following a rigorous series of auditions, MBC’s Himig ng Pasko choral competitions kicks off at Star City with a total of 12 children’s choirs and 12 chorales in the open category vying for their respective championships each worth P100,000.

Last year’s champion Hiyas ng Pilipinas, composed of young scholars from various public schools in Manila, will encounter stiff competition from other ensembles from all over Metro Manila.

MBC’s strong focus on recycling, creativity and innovation gets a boost though its Ilaw ng Pasko lantern-making competition, open to anybody wanting to re-interpret the traditional Philippine parol.

All entries will be hanged within Star City during the Christmas season to light up people’s hearts and bring good cheer.

Support from Unilever, Smart Communications, Unilab, Elasto Seal, Dunkin’ Donuts, and M. Lhuillier will help complete the sights and sounds of a truly Filipino Christmas through a series of nightly concerts by today’s top bands — Rivermaya, Sugarfree, Sandwich, True Faith, and Bamboo — offered free to those visiting the country’s top amusement park during the Paskong Pinoy celebrations.
