Join the Imagine Dragons remix competition

MANILA, Philippines - Rock band Imagine Dragons has launched a competition that challenges fans and music experts to remix their hit single, It’s Time.

The four-man gang of Dan Reynolds (drums, vocals), Ben McKee (bass, backing vocals), Wayne Sermon (guitar, backing vocals) and Dan Platzman (drums, viola, backing vocals) invites musically inclined Filipinos to join. Participants should download the vocal stem for the track to put their “very own beats” to it, and then upload their work at SoundCloud.com.

Entries can be submitted through an official form and by copying the Soundcloud embed code directly from the sharing menu marked “widget code” into one marked “Soundcloud Embed.” The band members themselves will choose the winner and judge submissions according to creativity and mixing skills.

It’s Time holds the Billboard record for the longest run on the 2012 Alternative Top 10 charts and has been certified platinum. In an interview, Dan expressed his amazement over the success of the song, saying, “It is a song about staying true to your roots, finding out who you are, sticking to that, and not trying to be anything other than what you are. I never intended it to be listened to by anybody or for it to be on radio. To see where it has gone today is pretty mind-boggling.”

The single is included in their album “Night Visions,” which is released in the Philippines by MCA Music. A new single of the album, the percussion-driven opening track Radioactive, is now enjoying airplay success. Its music video which amusingly showcases puppet-fighting features actor Lou Diamond Philips and actress Alexandra Daddario.
