Public enemy of the week:Robert Blair Carabuena
MANILA, Philippines - We usually hear of MMDA patrollers taking advantage of us, but never have we heard of a motorist starting a full-blown fight. But it happened, and the best part is, it was caught on tape. It was juicier than the Claudine Barretto-Raymart Santiago-Mon Tulfo brawl because the footage was clear and we got to see the part where the motorist hit the patroller in the head twice. The clip showed the guy, identified as Robert Blair Carabuena, berating Saturnino Fabros and then hitting him. MMDA plans to file a case of direct assault against Carabuena, but he is counterfiling because he claims that Fabros stopped him, hit his car and cursed at him. When asked why he hit Fabros, Carabuena said, “peg ko si Claudine e!”
Couple of the week:Angelica Panganiban and John Lloyd Cruz
A romance seemed to bloom in the midst of a breakup, but this one has yet to be confirmed. The rumored couple is Angelica Panganiban and John Lloyd Cruz, which spread after a picture of the two surfaced with the caption “Perfect Sunday.” The Angelica-John Lloyd tandem divided the masses, between those who wanted Derek’s six-pack abs and John Lloyd’s boyish good looks. Angelica seems to be John Lloyd’s latest target, a notorious playboy linked to some of the best-looking women: Liz Uy, Ruffa Gutierrez, and Shaina Magdayao. All we can say is, Angelica, ingat!
Fashion forward of the week: Charice Pempengco
Charice Pempengco seems to take a cue from Madonna, the Queen of Reinvention. Unfortunately, the results aren’t always as glamorous as her Preview cover, which ironically drew much criticism for too much Photoshop (there were only a few edits). After trying out a boyish look that put her sexuality in question, she’s now trying on a new hairstyle which is... hard to describe. Charice, we’re not sure where you drew inspiration for your look and although we respect your decision and you probably won’t care what we think (according to you on Twitter), but teh, you should have fired your stylist and not your manager.
Strong, independent woman of the week:The Philippines
The Philippines is serving up some fierce realness as Deutsche Bank’s chief economist for Asia has declared the Philippines to be Asia’s strongest-performing economy in Asia, after a 20-time record high in the stock market ever since P-Noy became president. So really, in spite of all the attacks on his personal and dating life, the man knows how to run an economy. According to the report, the Philippines is also the safest place for money to be, though we doubt that investments will come rolling in after The Bourne Legacy. Exports and remittances are the major reasons behind our standing, proof that OFWs are still werq-ing it abroad. Snaps for you, guys!
