Dear Tim,
I hope this letter finds you well.
I am part of a small group of De La Salle Zobel ’86 Alumni who organized a benefit fundraiser for our batchmate, FF Pantaleon’s son, Franz. Fellow batchmate, Geri Gatchalian-Gil, her husband Dan Gil of Chillitees, together with Gang Badoy of Rock Ed were able to recruit a number of well-known bands to play for a cause at Saguijo on Thursday, March 26 at 9 p.m. Entrance is P150, with one beer, 50 percent of which is going directly to Franz’s medical bills. We are also selling merchandise and passing donation hats during the event.
I have attached the Rock For A Reason poster with this e-mail. In case you can’t see the poster clearly, the band lineup is as follows: Sandwich, Pedicab, Duster, Chillitees, Bagetsafonik, South Super Highway, Gasolina, Juan Lunar, Chubibo, and Rivermaya.
Franz Pantaleon, an 18-year-old boy, was diagnosed with Extra-Skeletal Ewing’s Sarcoma last February.
It took months of tests, extended hospital confinements, and many specialists just to determine what was wrong with Franz. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy and under a lot of medication. Clearly, his road to recovery is far from sight. Meanwhile, Franz’s medical bills are continuously escalating. Thus, this benefit fundraiser was born.
I would like to ask you if you could help me get the benefit fundraiser featured in your newspaper, either as a one-off feature or as a noteworthy mention in an appropriate column in Supreme. We need all the support we can get, from friends and strangers alike. Especially today, when we live in a world that has shown us that what we do as individuals affects the collective whole.
Please let me know what other information you might need from me to spread the word on this benefit fundraiser, Rock For A Reason.
Thank you, Tim. I know I can SUPREMELY count on you.
