40 years of coeds at Ateneo and counting

University President Fr. Jett Villarin SJ receives a million peso starter fund for scholarships for Ateneo coeds from the first coed graduates Binky Dalupan-Palm and Nina Picache-King (both from Class 1975) during the launch of the celebration dubbed COED@40 or more formally known as “40 Years, Half the Sky: Celebrating Coeducation in the Ateneo.” Looking on is one of the event organizers, VP for the Professional Schools Antonette Angeles.

MANILA, Philippines - Alumnae of the Ateneo de Manila University recently went home to Katipunan to celebrate the 40 years of coeducation in the event “40 Years Half the Sky.” Launched last month, the celebration is a year-long event for the benefit of Atenean scholars. The opening exhibit held at the Rizal Library was inaugurated by Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno and  Fr. Jett Villarin, president of the Ateneo de Manila.
