MANILA, Philippines - McKinley Hill is a new development off Bonifacio Global City where young urban professionals as well as young families reside and work. At the heart of the area is a residential village where 100 or so families live a quiet and somewhat suburban lifestyle. And therein lies a quaint little clubhouse where the first Art Sunday will be held today, Nov. 25, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Upper McKinley Road (village entrance is in front of the British Embassy), Fort Bonifacio, Taguig.
Conceptualized by Noli Romero of Renaissance Art Gallery and Carmina Sanchez-Jacob, a freelance MarCom consultant and resident of the area, the event promises to be an exciting addition to all the new and dynamic activities in the modern hub. Ron De Castro has also joined Romero and Jacob in organizing this first-time exciting art sale.
Art Sunday is a relaxed atmosphere where collectors, art enthusiasts, experienced buyers, or even first-time art shoppers can enjoy viewing a variety of works fit for the modern home throughout an entire Sunday. It is also the perfect place to find the most unique Christmas gift for that special someone who loves beautiful works. Pieces as small as a table-top treasure to those big enough to cover your showcase wall in your home, office or building from both new and established Filipino artists will be part of the show’s offerings. Aner Sebastian, Fitz Herrera, Jojo Austria, Josef Laureano, Lindslee, Maxbal, Ronaldo Ruiz, Sio Montera and many more artists will be featured together with some choice creations from such modern masters as Olazo and Luz.
McKinley Hill Art Sunday is a new and friendlier way to shop for art as it is not at all intimidating and offers a whole range of prices, sizes, and styles to suit a whole array of tastes. It aspires to bring Filipino modern art to an audience who can admire and afford the choice pieces as the group strongly believes that art should not remain merely aspirational. Art Sunday allows everyone to enjoy a fantastic painting or fascinating sculpture and take it home with them to take pleasure in for a lifetime.
What’s even better is that as you shop for your own treasure or find, part of the proceeds of the project will be donated to ICanServe foundation to benefit women who are battling cancer. It is a perfect way to make a meaningful contribution this season as it is a gift for both you and another person in need.
