MANILA, Philippines - VS&F Classic Food participates in Wedding Expo Philippines 2012, which is slated for March 10 to 11 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City.
Organized by Themes & Motifs, the bi-annual event is the perfect venue for would-be couples and debutantes to source all their catering and party needs.
When Sharon Parereno-Fabian started Themes & Motifs, it was with the desire to run her own business as she fulfills her mother duties. Little did she know that the first wedding fair — Elegant Weddings — she organized in 2001 at the Power Plant Mall at Rockwell Center would spin off to Wedding Expo Philippines.
It was with the same desire to run a home-based business, which inspired enterprising couple Buddy and Josephine Abesamis to put up VS&F Classic Food. It all started 25 years ago when the Abesamis began a packed meal delivery service to employees in different offices in Cubao, Quezon City. Since then, VS&F Classic Food has grown into a full-scale catering enterprise that has served the needs of some of the biggest business firms and private individuals. It introduced on-the-spot-cooking, a practice now considered standard in the local catering industry.
Today, VS&F Classic Food is one of the expo’s longest participants. In fact, the catering firm has expanded with Elation, run by their daughters Veronica and Aina, which especializes in chocolate fondue and shooters buffet.
For this year’s expo, VS&F Classic Food brings back its Kitchen on Wheels, which carries freshly cooked hot meals as far as Tagaytay, Batangas, Quezon and even Baguio. VS&F will also conduct tasting sessions of its 20 best-selling dishes. Elation uses Barry Callebaut Belgian chocolate for its fondue stations. Guests will enjoy dipping choice morsels — from fruits to cookies and cake slices.
In a bid to offer clients only the best reception, VS&F president Buddy Abesamis traveled to Guangzhou, China to attend the China Import and Export Fair, popularly known as Canton Fair, to source the latest catering equipment and new linen.
Since Wedding Expo Philippines debuted in 2002, its participants have grown to about 400 exhibitors occupying a floor area space of 6,000 square meters. It has introduced innovations such as computerized online and on-site registration, a zoning layout and quota system among participants, a color-coded ID system to distinguish couples from singles, and a loot bag for every visiting couple.
To date, Themes & Motifs organizes two bridal and debutante fairs annually: Wedding Expo Philippines, which is held every March and September; and The Philippine Wedding Summing held every June.
