It is one of the best master-planned places in the country. Cebu Business Park — with its mall, offices, parks, sports club, hotel, and residential buildings — has given Cebu a place to converge, to see and be seen. We asked several of Cebu’s who’s-who to reveal what they love about this gem of a place in our city.
Ingrid Sala Santamaria, concert pianist
It’s a place to live, to work, to play, to study, to shop, to relax, to meet, to pray, to entertain and be entertained, to do multi-tasking. I find that Cebu Business Park is the place to be. It’s a world unto itself. It is a world to love, to keep and to enjoy. I especially love The Terraces and everything it means to everybody.
Candice Gotianuy, chancellor, University of Cebu
It’s such a pleasant experience to stroll around Ayala Center’s Terraces. Ayala Center has made the Terraces eco-friendly and functional at the same time. Bookstores are my thing. Since one of our offices is nearby, the accessibility to the mall combined with patches of green in the city, makes Cebu Business Park an ideal place to work and unwind.
Marco E. Protacio, area general manager, Waterfront Hotels and Casinos
I’ve always considered Cebu Business Park an asset to the local tourism industry. It complements establishments such as ours in a very positive way — by providing a one-stop lifestyle destination that offers venues for shopping, dining, sports and leisure, as well as a variety of other entertainment options. With one of its properties holding an impressive selection of restaurants, cafes and bars, it has in fact, become part of my regular weekend. It is truly a sight to behold — an attraction in itself — and a testament to Cebu’s progressive economic climate.
Tessie Javier, architect
Cebu Business Park is a jewel of Cebu. Its addition to our city has changed its image from a quiet one to a more metropolitan city with added sophistication and progress. The zoning and planning, including all the correct amenities, have created beauty, effficiency and order that have added to the Cebuanos’ sense of pride.
Joseph Gonzales, lawyer
This pocket oasis has everything I need, starting with my lifeline: the sports club! City Sports is where I go and sweat out my toxins, and suffer for the sake of vanity. Once I’ve done penance, I hie off to Ayala Mall, where I indulge in the best desserts to be found in the south (Oh Georg!), and where I source excellent caffeine from the plentitude of coffee joints. Cebu wouldn’t have been an attractive relocation destination without this park. It’s urban living at its best!
Gigi Ermita Alvarez, real estate broker
The Cebu Business Park is the central business district of Southern Philippines. I love the Cebu Business Park because it is the only master planned prime development in Cebu. There are areas for the malls, hotels, offices and residential condos. It has a park, fully landscaped green strips, wide roads, ample security and most of all the location is strategic.
Mariano Percides, retiree
The Ayala Mall provides me with a multitude of dining, shopping and entertainment options. My morning visits to Bo’s Coffee allow me to catch up with friends and partake in lively political and current event discussions. Afterwards, my wife and I often lunch at one of several restaurants and select from a wide variety of cuisines. Catching a movie at one of several theaters offers a relaxing way to spend the afternoon and end my day.
