MANILA, Philippines - Katrina Goulbourn Babes’ latest collection of couture christening gowns, called “Naissance,” has arrived.
The little gowns of the French-inspired collection (naissance means “birth”) are a reflection of European charm and our precious little ones’ innocence. Primarily coming in an array of white shades — from snowy white and classic ivory to buttermilk cream — the gowns are heirloom pieces to be passed down from one generation to the next. With some of the gowns, designer Katrina Goulbourn adds her personal flair with a signature touch of color.
“This holiday season, I wanted to explore a more romantic look. I had fine and delicate laces to work with and also created embroidery inspired by the Renaissance period. So I worked with different fabrics, from silk and cottons, in different weights and textures, and numerous trimmings to create each gown,” explains Katrina.
A surprise ribbon here, an unexpected ruffle there — the gowns, although mostly traditional in color, are unique in detailing, and possess a dreamlike quality, in celebration of your little dream come true.
Katrina Goulbourn Babes Christening Gowns are available at Rustan’s Makati, Alabang and Shangri-la Plaza, and at Silk Cocoon, New World Hotel in Makati.
