What's the cheesiest line you have ever heard or said?

You hear them everywhere and for different reasons — whether they’re being said between friends trying to get favors, or boys trying to pick up girls or vice versa. Some lines are cheesy and funny, some are just plain cheesy — blatantly untrue and oh-so-corny. Still, they do make us laugh.

Sandra Siefert, Miss Philippines Earth 2009: I’ve heard so many cheesy lines but the only one I remember off the top of my head is when I was working and a guy suddenly said, “Excuse me, but can you call me an ambulance?” I asked why and he said, “‘Cause I just fell…in love…”

Nina Corpuz, broadcast journalist: The cheesiest line I’ve ever heard must be Julia Roberts line from Notting Hill: “I’m only just a girl standing in front of a boy asking him to love her.” Cheesy, but nice movie!

Wesley Villarica, photographer: The cheesiest line I ever heard was: “Was your mother a terrorist? ’Cause you’re the bomb.” To which I replied, “Would you like some wine with your cheese?”

Isha Andaya, managing editor, Stylebible.ph: A girl says, “Hey, what’s happening tonight?” Guy says, “You are.”

Jinno Rufino, host/model: I heard this from a girl at Embassy. She came up to me and said, “I love your shirt, want to go out sometime?” Now what made that funny was that I was wearing a plain white T-shirt!

Katkat De Castro, travel show host: Someone really told me the following lines back in high school. I dumped the guy after two weeks. He said to me, “Balon ka ba? Dahil nahulog ako sa yo! (“Are you a well? Because I’ve fallen for you.”) Nasaktan ka ba? Dahil nakita ko yung paghulog mo sa langit. (“Are you hurt? Because I saw you falling from the heavens!”)

Tony Bueno of Boys Night Out, Magic 89.9: “Well, I’ve said this one too many times: “We can hang, just don’t fall in love!”

John Lloyd Cruz, actor: This was taken from my latest TV commercial where I told Bea, ‘Hindi tayo tao, hindi tayo hayop, bagay tayo. Bagay na bagay.’ That was the cheesiest line I’ve ever said in my life.

Francis Flores, marketing manager, Greenwich: I came across this cheesy line when we were researching for our Overloaded Extreme Cheese Pizza campaign: “Am I a bad shooter? Because I keep on missing you.”
