A sense of Zen at the Skygarden

MANILA, Philippines – There’s a sense of Zen at the newly opened Skygarden at SM City North-EDSA, as prized bonsai plants from the Philippine Bonsai Society are exhibited in the garden’s River Flowing section until today, June 7. The group has been awarded for the Best Bonsai in Japan and has always been at the top 100 of the world for its bonsai plants.

Floating above the tranquil waterscape, these artistically cultivated bonsai plants celebrate composition, form, balance, and symmetry. These showcase the skill by which the tree has been fashioned by the bonsai artist, and have become an attraction since the Skygarden opened.

The Philippine Bonsai exhibit includes graceful renditions of flowering Santan and Bouganvilla shrubs, as well as Bantigue, Balete, Kamagong, Alagan, Yangya, and Guava trees. Bobby Gopia’s Pemphis acidula Bantigue received an award as best in show during the 4th Philippine Bonsai Society, Inc. National Bonsai Exhibit and Open competition.

The Bonsai Exhibit is ongoing until today at the Sky Garden at SM City North-EDSA.
