Mallgoers at the SM Mall of Asia will be treated to a tableau of Grand Musical Plays at the SM Mall of Asia for the whole month of December.
These are plays that tell a Christmas story, and celebrate joy, peace, love, and harmony with well-loved songs and dazzling performances. The season begins with Christmas at the North Pole on December 7 at the Atrium; Christmas Sea-Adventures on December 14 at the Music Hall; Pinocchio at the Atrium on December 21; and Christmas at the Fairy Tale Ville at the Atrium on December 25. All performances will begin at 6 p.m.
Some of the country’s top theater artists will be performing the musicales: Trumpets, Asia’s first professional theater group; Ballet Manila headed by Lisa Macuja-Elizalde; and Theater Down South, who focus on educational theater and family entertainment.

‘Christmas at the North Pole’ comes to SM Mall of Asia
Christmas at the North Pole starts off the series of Grand Musical Plays on Sunday, December 7 at 6 p.m. at the Atrium in SM Mall of Asia. Here, kids will have the chance to hear Santa sing and dance with elves, and meet his wife Mrs. Santa as well.
A story about Christmas in Santa’s home and winter wonderland, Christmas at the North Pole has a star-studded holiday cast: Mr. and Mrs. Santa, Elves Elfis, the Baby Elf Trio, Holly Berry, and Rudolf, the captain of the reindeer fleet. It also includes Santa’s well-loved reindeers – Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner and Blitzen; as well as the Toys – the Little Drummer Boy, the Music Box Dancer, the Teddy Bear, and Soldier. Christmas music will be provided by the Cool Yule Band –Frosty, Billiard, and Icicle. They will be played by the Theater Down South performers.
Christmas at the North Pole takes place during Christmas Eve when everyone is busy getting dressed for their Big Christmas Party. Santa flies off to deliver his presents, and while he is away, there is an argument with the Little Drummer Boy, who wants to join the band. Mrs. Santa is left to resolve the problem.
As the story unfolds, well-loved Christmas carols will be played: Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Happy Little Workshop Song, I’ll Be Home for Christmas, Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer, Just One Person, Little Drummer Boy, and Little Drummer Boy.
