Shop at The Podium & fly on Singapore Airlines’ A380

It came, it flew and it conquered the skies. The first airline to fly the new A380, Singapore Airlines (SIA) presents luxury never seen before in the skies.

Now, The Podium and SIA have teamed up to bring the A380 experience to shoppers. From January 21 to March 4, shop at The Podium and get a chance to fly for free to Sydney on the A380. Every P1,500 worth of receipts, single or accumulated within the day, automatically gives shoppers one raffle coupon. Singapore Airlines or SilkAir boarding pass holders shopping at the Airline’s Boarding Pass Privileges (BPP) partner establishments will get twice as many raffle coupons.

SIA’s A380 is configured with 471 seats in three classes — 12 are Sky Suites, 60 are business class, and 399 are economy class.

With all the space on the A380, SIA literally expands its first class with the Sky Suites — what it calls “beyond first class.” You don’t get just a wide seat, you get a private cabin and Salvatore Ferragamo amenities, and use Givenchy beddings.

Now, that’s personal space in the sky!

Behind the sliding doors of your cabin is a plush and luxurious leather seat that can be adjusted to a variety of sitting and lounging positions.  For those who want to sleep, a full-sized flat bed is built into each suite. For couples traveling, the beds in the middle two seats can be converted into an optional double bed. A lavish duvet and cushions by Givenchy make your sleep more comfortable.

Those who need to work onboard just have to plug their laptop into the in-seat power supply or plug their USB thumb drive to use the office tools available on KrisWorld, SIA’s award-winning in-flight entertainment system.

SIA also improved its business class — now with the widest and most spacious seat in the industry.  The business class seat is 34 inches wide and can be transformed into a full-flat bed for passengers to truly get the shuteye they need. Passengers can also lounge in bed to eat or watch the 15.4-inch LCD TV.

But why sleep when you have KrisWorld, SIA’s in-flight entertainment system? With a personal TV in each seat (even in economy class), KrisWorld is one reason why passengers don’t mind long-haul flights on SIA — they can catch up on movies with its selection of 100 movies, more than 800 TV programs, 700 music CDs and 3D games on demand. You can watch all those trilogies — LOTR, Pirates of the Caribbean, etc. — back to back to back, pause the movie when you want to, rewind or fast-forward to the parts you like.

The business-class seats are arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration, which gives aisle access to everyone — no more waking up your seatmate when you have to use the toilet.

The A380 also has a Passenger Corner, where passengers can socialize or pick up snacks. Apart from the spaciousness of the cabin and its lavatories, low cabin noise and special lighting make flying easier.

Launched in October last year, Singapore Airlines A380 flies daily from Singapore to Sydney. Same-day connections are available on Singapore Airlines and SilkAir from Manila, Cebu and Davao. In the first quarter of 2008, SIA A380 will start flying to London.
