What's your favorite shoes?

Wearing the right pair of shoes is really important because our shoes are what keep us on our feet (literally) throughout the day. Aside from making sure that our shoes are comfortable, the shoes we choose to wear say a lot about the kind of person we are.

Of course the right pair of shoes can make or break the outfits that we wear. It would be a disaster to pair a dirty pair of shoes with a lovely red dress, right?

So, before you decide to run out and get the shoes you have been dying to own, read on and and let these stylish women tell you about the shoes that make them put their best foot forward–all the time.

Mai Mai Cojuangco, model:
I don’t really have a particular favorite brand or pair since my needs and moods vary from time to time, day to day. But I’m very choosy with the shoes I buy. After all, good material and cut/form make a big difference on the feet.

Ilocos Norte Representative Imee Marcos:
Hand-painted white wedge espadrilles from San Sebastian, Spain or good old spike slingbacks, or new retro, bagong luma, white Adidas with three black stripes.

Melissa Lopez, housewife:
My favorite shoes are the two latest Rossis I bought. They are part of the winter collection – all-embossed leather, really sexy, so Madonna.

Gretchen Barretto, commercial model:
It’s really hard for me to choose one particular pair of shoes because I’m a shoe girl. So I like Tod’s for every day but when I need to wear heels I go for Jimmy Choo and Blahnik. So I really can’t say which particular shoes would be my favorite. And I love to wear sneakers, Puma or Nike when I go to the gym.

Bea Valdes, enterpreneur:
The ones I enjoy most are the stilettos. Jimmy Choo and Sergio Rossi have a range of styles from sleek to whimsy that I can wear to dinner or to job sites. Whatever I wear, I need to be able to run and work in them – a crazy attempt to stay grounded while on tiptoes.

Cher Calvin, TV host, F:
My favorite pair of shoes these days are black open-toe strappy heels that are about four inches high. I love the towering feeling I get when I wear them and believe it or not they’re comfortable.

Tweetie De Leon Gonzalez, editor, Bride magazine:
I’m not quite Imeldific when it comes to collecting shoes. I’m okay with just keeping a fairly decent number of them. I don’t normally make a statement with my shoes so the styles I choose are considerably neutral, even in color. I do love them all, save for those few which I bought impulsively. But there are two that I fancy most at the moment – my gold Anne Klein stilettos with a sprinkling of beads and padded fabric for the in-step, making it vampy and comfy at the same time. The other is a pair of white wedge sandals by Unisa which are so comfortable to use. I never thought I’d use wedge shoes again...white on top of that.

Audrey Puckett-Chiu, homemaker:
Jimmy Choos, hands down. I can never walk in heels but in these, I can run in them! And of course, Dr. Scholls clogs – it’s my trademark. It’s cool, casual and not the least contrived.

Mandy Dela Rama Santos, businesswoman:
Much as I love all my shoes, comfort is always the key so I totally live in flats and cannot live without my Stubbs & Wooton loafers, Belgian loafers, Jack Roger sandals and my Nike Air Veronas.
