MANILA, Philippines - The grand ballroom of the Crown Plaza in Ortigas, Metro Manila was filled to overflowing recently at the launch by Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC) of its newest malls-- Robinsons Place Las Pinas and Robinsons Place Antipolo.
Lourdes Alano, Robinsons vice-president for Lease, welcomed the retailers and mall tenants who had gathered that afternoon to learn more about the new malls.
It’s your “mall next door,†was how RLC senior vice-president and general manager for the commercial centers division, Arlene Magtibay, described Robinsons Place Las Piñas, which is located along the Alabang-Zapote Road. Scheduled to open in September, the mall is part of a mixed-use development that includes the mall and a mid- rise residential condominium complex of Robinsons Communities.
“With its proximity to other densely populated areas such as Ala- bang, Muntinlupa, Paranaque and Bacoor, Las Piñas truly represents an enticing location for doing business,†Magtibay said. There are about 300 subdivisions within a five-kilometer radius as well as schools and hospitals. The mall could very well serve as a “second home†to Las Piñas residents, Magtibay added.
Built on a 6.8 hectare lot, the sprawling two-story mall will have a basement and open parking areas, a canopied entryway and atrium. Its anchor stores include Robinsons Supermarket, Handyman, and Robinsons Department Store. Robinsons Movieworld will operate four world-class digital cinemas, with one 3D, for a total of 960 seats. There will be a full range of dining options, from fast food and casual aswellascoffeeshopsandalfrescorestaurants. Apark-likefoodcourt will be located on the second level.
Among its 150 mall tenants are fashion boutiques, specialty shops, service stores, IT and gadget stores. “It will also have an amusement center, a baby care lounge, and Lingkod Pinoy Center,†Magtibay added.
Meanwhile, to match the fresh air and rustic appeal of its setting, 100 meters above sea level, Robinsons Place Antipolo will have an abundance of greenery and water features, Magtibay explained. This new mall in “the city in the skyâ€, the largest city in the Sierra Madres in the Calabarzon area, just 25 kilometers from Metro Manila, promises to be an ideal getaway for shop- ping and relaxation for the booming urban community.
“The two-level full service mall will pro- vide residents the convenience of the modern malling lifestyle without having to venture too far from home,†Magtibay remarked. The mall is strategically located along Sumulong Highway at the corner of Circumferential Road, which is near the municipalities of Rodriguez, San Mateo, Taytay, Cainta, Tanay, Teresa, and Baras. “The close proximity of Antipolo to Metro Manila and its accessibility to other nearby towns will surely make Robinsons Place Antipolo the favorite leisure and shopping destination of the area,†Magtibay noted.
Scheduled to open in September this year, Robinsons Place Antipolo is part of a 16-hect- are, mixed-use complex composed of a mall, a terminal, and a subdivision of Robinsons Homes. The mall will have 200 tenants, with Robinsons Supermarket, Robinsons Ap- pliance Center, Handyman and Robinsons Department Store as anchor stores. It will likewise have four digital cinemas, with one 3D cinema, an amusement center and a food court. A total of 604 parking slots will be avail- able at the outside parking area.
RLC president and COO Frederick Go thanked the mall retailers and entrepreneurs to whom he gave credit for the success of the different Robinsons malls. “Our leasing team is aware of this principle,†he said.
