MANILA, Philippines - The country’s first and original hypermarket, Shopwise, now counts itself among the prestigious Hall of Fame Awardees, as it was again hailed as “Outstanding Hypermarket†at the recently concluded 16th Outstanding Filipino Retailers and Shopping Centers of the Year Awards Night (OFR-SCY).
Shopwise once again bested other entrees in the Full Line Department Store/ Hypermarket category for the third time, earning it a spot in the institution’s prestigious Hall of Fame for retail excellence. Shopwise first won the Outstanding Hypermarket award in 2005, and again, in 2011.
Dubbed as the “Oscars of the Retail Industryâ€, the annual gathering of the biggest names and key players in the Philippine retail industry is organized by the Philippine Retailers Association (PRA) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). The institution recognizes Filipino companies who have epitomized the model of a successful retailer in terms of growth and good ethical business practices.
Shopwise currently has 10 branches, while Rustan’s Supermarkets has 13 branches across Metro Manila and Cebu. Both brands are operated by Rustan's Supercenters, Inc., a member of the Dairy Farm International Group.
