MANILA, Philippines - Plains & Prints takes fashion to the next level as it teams up with Randy Ortiz, one of the country’s foremost fashion designers, for its latest collection suffused with glamour, romance and timeless elegance.
Randy Ortiz for Plains & Prints couture collection is inspired by the country’s celebrated style icons and features pieces that reflect a play of colors, textures, and silhouettes.
“It has always been our goal to work with designers like Randy Ortiz who have made such a huge impact in the Philippine fashion industry. This collaboration has created a capsule collection that perfectly merged the signature looks of both Randy Ortiz and Plains & Prints,” explains Roxanne Farillas, creative head and owner of Plains & Prints.
Randy Ortiz for Plains & Prints takes inspiration from Filipina fashion icons — Kris Aquino, Charlene Gonzalez-
Muhlach, Claudine Barretto, Lucy Torres-Gomez, Tweetie de Leon-Gonzalez, Gelli de Belen, and Randy’s own mother and forever muse, Lourdes Ortiz — who have made a lasting impression on Randy as a person and designer.
The seven-piece collection is comprised of a tunic top, two dresses, and four blouses all in jewel tones and printed patterns. The designs also fittingly carry the names of Randy’s style icons.
Highlighting the collection is the special Randy Ortiz Prints, which come in two colors — Randy Print in Red and Randy Print in Gray — which incorporate the designer’s famous rosette texture and pattern.
And just for this special collection, Plains & Prints is introducing a first in the Philippine retail industry: the use of digital printing on fabric. Digitally printed fabrics serve as a boundless canvas for cross-disciplinary techniques and intricate details in a multitude of colors, allowing Plains & Prints to give flat surfaces a 3D quality.
Passionate about another commitment, Plains & Prints is doing its share to help raise funds for typhoon Ondoy victims through a Buyer’s Night, where guests can readily purchase the actual pieces featured during the unveiling, with a percent of the sales from the event to be donated to the flood victims.
Plains & Prints was established 15 years ago with a concept of capturing the simplicity and elegance of Filipinas through its stylish classic pieces. The fashion brand started by manufacturing lace-edged towels and basic polos, then ventured into women’s apparel still carrying that classic, elegant concept to fashion. The concept instantly became a hit among teens and young career women who found the perfect brand to complement their ever-changing fashion sense.
Randy Ortiz for Plains & Prints is now available in all its more than 50 stores nationwide.
