MANILA, Philippines — More and more Filipinos consider their pets not only their best friends but members of their families. And it’s not only humans who deserve a staycation–our pets love to get out of the house, too!
Agoda.com has prepared a list of pet-friendly hotels around the metro to create new memories with your four-legged loved ones.
Oakwood Premier Joy Nostalg Center Manila (4.5*)
If you want to experience luxury living in the heart of Ortigas Center with your beloved furry friend, Oakwood Premier Manila is the top choice. The founder of this establishment, Howard Ruby is a well-known animal lover.
When checking-in, guests will have to read and sign a Pet Agreement. Part of the contract is to make sure that their cats or dogs are licensed, must wear collar/ID tags and must always be accompanied by their owners in public areas. It also states that they should be at least one year old, well-groomed, free of fleas/ticks and the vaccinations must be current and valid.
Dogs should not exceed 75 pounds or 2 feet in height. Dogs are restricted to one per room, but cat lovers can have up to two cats in the room. The hotel will even provide the traveler a scratch post for any cat whose claws are not trimmed.
Coco’s Garden Guestroom Manila (3*)
For those who want an unforgettable stay in historical Manila, this three-star accommodation hits the mark. Guests are welcome to bring in their pets as long as they manage the feeding and care of their animals. Coco’s Garden Guestroom Manila expects pets to be trained; they are allowed to use the garden for theirs needs as long as sanitary rules are followed. Pets must also maintain a level of control so other guests aren’t disturbed by barking or noise.Coco’s Garden Guestroom Manila gives services that will be both enjoyed by the pets and owners as well.
iSuites (2*)
If you want to stay up north in the Quezon City at a place that’s more budget friendly, iSuites would be the best bet. Its location is ideal for those who want to shop in Cubao, and is a stone’s throw away from Araneta Center.
iSuites’ rules on bringing a pet are easy to remember--they must be trained and be on leash at all times; owners should clean up after their pets and should never leave them unattended; and the hotel will not be liable for any damage or harm that guest’s pet may cause.
There are many more properties that permit pets inside and outside the Philippines. When looking and researching for hotels on Agoda.com, travelers can always scroll down to the Features section of the hotel to see if there’s a check mark next to “pets allowed”. The degree of “pet-friendliness” may also vary so it’s best to email the hotel to avoid surprises upon check-in.
So even if National Dog and Cat Day are over, you can still treat them to a staycation in the next couple of months by connecting to www.agoda.com today!
