MANILA, Philippines - In celebration of its 30th anniversary, Ikebono Ikebana Manila recently held a floral arrangement demonstration with visiting Japanese Ikebana professor Takashi Moribe at The Podium Atrium.
The flora demonstration was part of the celebration of the 40th year of the Association of Southeast Asian nations (ASEAN)-Japan Friendship and Cooperation with the theme “Thought Connected. Future Connected.†The event was held in collaboration with the embassy of Japan.
Guests included the embassy of Japan’s Information and Culture Center director Kiyoshi Takeuchi and deputy chief of mission of Japan Miyuki Takewaka. Other Ikebana enthusiasts present were Ikebana Manila president Linda Limpe, founding member Felicidad “Liling†Nuguid, adviser Missy Ignacio, event chair Jun Balderrama and member Christina Fenix Abalos. Ikebana enthusiasts from the world-over also attended the event such as Piedad Roman from Honduras, Daneey Barnett and Carla Gray from Colombia, Teresa Kennedy from the US, Anne Wennagel from Germany and Sengyo Kato from Japan.
