MANILA, Philippines - Claudine Barretto posted on Instagram a photo of a handwritten love letter from her ex-boyfriend Rico Yan—all the 90s babies are abuzz over it.
Barretto and Yan is considered as the most popular love team during their time. The two started as on screen partners and eventually a real life couple. Their relationship lasted for four years until Yan's untimely demise due to hemorrhagic pancreatitis in 2002.
The love letter was accompanied with a snapshot of their photo.
The post reads:
"To my hunny,
By the time you read this, I must be in CDO already. Just want to thank you for last night. You were wonderful!!! And because of that, I’m sure I’m gonna have a hard time sleeping without you by my side tonight. :( But nevertheless, I still love you very much! MWAH!!"
Claudine and Rico took to social media to talk about the actress's throwback post, although some netizens aren't too happy about it.
"Rico Yan will forever be my main. I was just 8 or 9 when i started drooling over him. And when he died, a part of me died too. I miss him," posted one Twitter user.
Another netizen said: "It's been 13 years since he died, yet Rico Yan is still being used for publicity by his ex-girlfriend."
