The local franchise of fast-food giant McDonald's recently opened its doors for the 700th time at Santa Rosa, Laguna's Nuvali development.
In a news release, Golden Arches, the mother company of Mcdonald's Philippines, said the latest Nuvali branch is among the 45 stores it opened in 2022.
It is also McDonald's fifth "Green & Good" store in the Philippines, equipped with solar power, rainwater harvesting tank, power-saving photo and motion sensors, an energy management system, LED lights and a more efficient air conditioning system, among other features.
It also includes bike-friendly facilities catering to the booming cycling community around the Ayala Land eco-estate.
Owner George Yang, who is the master franchise owner, attended the opening of the branch on December 23 with Santa Rosa Mayor Arlene Arcillas, President and CEO Kenneth Yang and Ronald McDonald House Charities Ambassador Cindy Yang.
"With every Green & Good store that we open, we can determine and integrate better green building and utility-efficient solutions in more of the restaurants that we will open in the coming years,” Kenneth Yang said.
The branch is located along Nature Road. Other "Green & Good" branches are found along UN Del Pilar in Manila, Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong, Mambugan in Antipolo, Delos Reyes in Tagaytay and Sta. Monica at Commonwealth in Quezon City.
