MANILA, Philippines - At last April’s Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, Walter Knoll made a very special premiere: its very first bed collection. Two ranges were created in collaboration with the Austrian design team EOOS.
“Our beds Jaan and Yuuto shape modern residential worlds — living spaces for the rituals of our lifestyles,†says Markus Benz, CEO and managing director of Walter Knoll AG & Co. KG. “Because these upholstered beds can stand freely in a room, open to a whole range of possible connections — to our wardrobes, the bathroom, the panorama. They are complemented by interior accessories that are as eye-catching as they are special — boards, upholstered benches, small tables and escritoires — for all the wonderful rituals of our everyday lives.â€
Further luxury pieces for living and contract include:
Grand Suite is the sofa range from the Austrian design team EOOS, which showcases pure elegance and spaciousness. Large, soft cushions and details in saddle leather, masterly crafted — a statement for your own home.
Isanka are luxury pieces designed with particular precision. Upholstered seats, occasional tables and basket made of characterful saddle leather with striking “signature seams.â€
Seito is the new dining table designed by Wolfgang C.R. Mezger, which is impressive in its balance of lines, angles and surface and in the material mix of white quartz and fine nut wood.
The extensions to the Foster 520 armchair, the classic Haussmann 310 and Liz chair all supplement the successful ranges.
New carpets are extending the Walter Knoll “Legends of Carpets†range inspired by the colors and shapes of African landscapes and hand-knotted in certified workshops in Nepal. Eleven new carpets were presented including seven plain ones.
A sign of the spirit of the times and international lifestyle are the new fabrics and leathers that have been added to the Walter Knoll materials collection. The new leather colors in natural earth colors emphasize the naturalness of the material. The new fabrics in delicate pastel colors ensure subtle highlights.
The Flou 2014 collection highlights new moods — Shabby Chic, Color and High-end — and exudes style and quality.
Flou’s new products are designed by Carlo Colombo, Rodolfo Dordoni, Emanuela Garbin-Mario Dell’Orto and Pinuccio Borgonovo. They are the delightfully harmonious combination of research, design, high-end materials and procedures that combine technology and artisan skills.
Color and design are the key ingredients of expression and harmonious fusion and they add a dynamic edge to Flou’s new textile collection. Once again this year, the collection has been updated in terms of hues, patterns and textures.
The new series of bed linen sets and upholstery fabrics have joined forces in presenting a delightfully innovative collection; the contemporary twist is perceived in the tailoring, the elegant colors and the deliberately “well-worn†informal luxury.
Prostoria, on the other hand, has its design rooted in the vision to create quality and well-designed upholstered furniture that will enrich one’s everyday home interactions.
People are creating for people, researching, exchanging ideas and knowledge of craft, employing technology and materials.
Form follows function, knowledge and technology, quality and award-wining design products with a reasonable price tag.
In July, Abitare Internazionale is bringing in Montis to add to its luxury lineup. Montis was established in 1974. Its collection is characterized by distinctive color combinations in various special leathers and materials, and the trademark design features with a personal, human character.
Montis has always strongly believed in its own ideas and techniques, even when these went against the grain of established ideas. The production method whereby the body of a chair or sofa is “given its jacket†was relatively unknown. Montis set itself apart from other companies within the sector and still uses this method of upholstery in many of its pieces.
Gijs Papavoine is the key designer of Montis besides the owner Paul van den Berg. His way of applying shapes has been a big significance for the market position Montis holds.
Among the designers Montis has worked with are Niels Bendsten, Arnold Mercx, Marie Christine Dorner and Gert Batenburg. As of 2004, Montis has also been working with designers like Dick Spierenburg and Karel Boonzaaijer, and since 2006 with Studio Job, Alain Berteau and Demakersvan.
