MANILA, Philippines - Showcasing the best of Philippine products, the Congressional Spouses Foundation Inc. (CSFI), holds the “2012 National Livelihood Trade Fair” ongoing until Nov. 11 at the Megatrade Hall 2, Building B, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.
Dubbed as “Kabuhayan 2012,” the trade fair is an advocacy that aims to promote Filipino SMEs and exhibit Filipino culture and tradition through arts, crafts, fashion, cuisine, and other specialty products hand-crafted by Filipino artisans.
Kabuhayan 2012 is held in cooperation with SM Megamall, Megatrade Hall, Department of Trade and Industry and Centrex Corporation and with the following sponsors GMA-7, Pagibig Fund, Metrobank, and Extreme Magic Sing.
The trade fair will exhibit and make available to buyers the diverse products of even the remotest barangays in the country.
Participated in by energetic congressional spouses, the trade fair, said Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte (CSFI chairperson and president), is a great opportunity for promoting quality local products from the different regions of the country which are otherwise only enjoyed by that locality’s visitors, tourists and locals.
“Filipinos are genuinely creative and in everything they do they put their heart into it. It is just enough to say that what you will see in the bazaar are only the best,” Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte said.
The trade fair also offers unique and affordable Christmas gifts for early Christmas shoppers. Among the products are native delicacies from the different regions of the Philippines, distillery products that are at par with foreign blends, bags, shoes, dried fish, fresh fruits, jewelries, woven products and other handicrafts that are able to demonstrate Filipino artistry at its finest.
At the opening of the exhibit last Nov. 8 guests of honor included House Speaker Sonny Belmonte Jr., Secretary Gregory Domingo of the Department of Trade and Industry, and Mandaluyong City Mayor Benjamin D.C. Abalos Jr.
