MANILA, Philippines - Fashionistas have reason to rejoice. Australian clothing brand Cotton On has officially opened its doors in the Philippines. Cotton On has more than 950 branches worldwide, present in countries such as the USA, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and the United Arab Emirates. Cotton On offers trendy ladies and men’s fashion, accessories, and footwear at pocket-friendly prices.
Suyen Corporation, the company behind retail giant Bench and other foreign brands such as The Face Shop, Charles and Keith, Aldo, La Senza, and Celio, opened the latest addition to its global family, the first at SM Mall of Asia, just in time for its year-long 25th anniversary celebration and the second at the SM Megamall.
A brand launch was held at SM Mall of Asia last Sept. 6. Hosted by Raymond Gutierrez, the event attracted celebrities, models, bloggers, and fashion enthusiasts. Bench endorsers Karylle and Lucy Torres-Gomez along with daughter Juliana, supermodel Tweetie de Leon, celebrity host and columnist Tim Yap, actors Ejay Falcon and Joseph Marco, the Artista Academy of TV 5, as well as Phoemela Barranda were spotted at the launch. Australian Ambassador Bill Twedell, Austrade Senior Trade Commissioner Anthony Weymouth, Rep. Roman Romulo and wife, Valenzuela Councilor Shalani Soledad, were also in attendance.
To showcase Cotton On’s youthful vibe, college students were selected as models during the launch’s fashion show of its newest collection of basic and fashion-forward pieces. After the fashion show, Samsung Galaxy SIII units were given away to six lucky members of the press in the raffle.
Cotton On’s first store at SM Mall of Asia opened the day after and was packed with a lot of eager shoppers. Early birds who arrived from 10 to 10:30 a.m. received discount coupons worth P500. Each minimum purchase worth P2,000 made customers eligible for a free Cotton On button pin and mug. Bench MasterCard holders got an exclusive discount of 25 percent while Bench Lifestyle Card holders got a discount of 10 percent.
