Joining the international community as it celebrated “Wear Red Day” was the staff of St. Luke’s Medical Center Bonifacio Global City. The global event was held to increase awareness of cardiovascular disease (CVD) among women. Unknown to many, CVD is the leading cause of mortality worldwide, not only among men but among women as well. The observance was spearheaded by St. Luke’s Heart Institute director, doctor Jose Nicolas Cruz and the head of Cardiovascular Medicine and Women’s Heart Health Dr. Adelaida Iboleon-Dy. They were joined by the St. Luke’s Medical Center executive staff led by its president and chief executive officer Jose Ledesma and senior vice president and chief medical officer, Dr. Joven Cuanang.
