MANILA, Philippines - This December, Esquire Philippines presents its very first Genius issue and features on the cover the biggest mover in Philippine business today — Manny V. Pangilinan. The issue lists 19 reasons why Filipinos should be proud and remain optimistic about the country today.
With a special section dedicated to the “Best and the Brightest”, Esquire recognizes the discoveries, ideas, and personalities that have not only mattered the past year but will matter more in the next months and even in the years to come. “That’s an important distinction to make. After all, awards are nice but true achievement is never ever only good for display on a mantle place,” editor-in-chief Erwin Romulo points out in his editor’s note.
Pangilinan takes center stage in this Genius Issue, as he has clearly been this year’s Man of the Hour. “Our man on the cover personifies that ideal of being forward-looking by being totally committed and engaged in the present,” says Romulo. In the December issue of Esquire, Pangilinan shares his take on making billion-peso deals, respecting enemies, and his next big move in the world of business.
Esquire also trains the spotlight on cosplay queen Alodia Gosiengfiao in the Woman We Love section, and features an interview with the veteran coach of the Philippine basketball industry Tim Cone. Spicing up the pages of the December issue is Vanessa Matsunaga as Esquire’s Christmas elf. This month’s issue also serves as the Esquire Man’s guide to the holidays.
