A traditional Christmas at Robinsons Malls

MANILA, Philippines - Robinsons Malls celebrates Christmas with beautiful displays that appeal to children and the young-at-heart. This year, Robinsons Malls returns to the classics with magnificent Christmas trees decorated with dazzling ornaments like stars and colored candy canes. The dazzling LED lights are truly festive.

The Christmas tree, a tradition that dates back to Europe in the 16th century, is the centerpiece of the season’s celebrations at Robinsons Malls nationwide. The festivities kicked off on Nov. 4 at 5 p.m. at Robinsons Place Manila with the lighting of the 32-foot Christmas tree adorned with gold poinsettias, red berries, shiny balls, ribbons and LED lights. As in previous years, this year’s giant tree was designed and executed by Visage Vestige Visuals.

The tree lighting ceremony will be graced by Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim and Vice Mayor Isko Moreno. Singer Gary Valenciano, on the other hand, will perform during the event. This special ceremony also serves as the launch of Robinsons Malls Gift of Change provincial rollout, which will benefit the less privileged in Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Dumaguete, Cebu, Lipa, Los Baños and Sta. Rosa. The Gift of Change is a coin-bank collection that encourages shoppers to contribute their spare change to charity. The beneficiaries include religious and non-profit organizations with the focus on three core community needs: education, health and community development.

Robinsons Nova Market’s holiday musical tree, which is taller than the mall at 90 feet, will be decked with Christmas gift baskets, snowflakes and bright blinking lights and accented with colored candy canes, lollipops and gold Christmas balls. The tree, which will be lighted by Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista on Nov. 11 at 5 p.m. in an event that features a celebrity show and a fireworks display, will be situated near the yearly Holiday Night Bazaar of Sidcor where 200 stalls will be open nightly for mall goers to shop for gift items and novelty products.

The outdoor holiday trees of Robinsons Metro East in Pasig City and Robinsons Place Dumaguete were designed to be displayed in a cluster of graduated sizes at 20 feet, 18 feet and 15 feet. Each tree is wrapped in garlands and decked with shiny bright Christmas balls in red, green and gold and lighted with LED icicle lights. Each tree is topped by a star.

At Robinsons Place Imus, Robinsons Place Dasmarinas and Robinsons Sta. Rosa Market, the indoor Christmas trees are also inspired by the carnival. The trees, which stand 30 feet tall and are located at the malls’ atrium, are decked with garlands and other glittering ornaments and lights. The trees will also serve as the backdrop of a choir that will sing carols for 12 days leading to Christmas. There will also be an area where kids can meet Santa Claus during weekends.

It will be a glittery Christmas at Robinsons Galleria with the façade lighted with an interplay of LED lights. Glittering silhouettes of Christmas trees will be the theme of the display, which features dazzling white LED lights accented by aqua blue parols (Christmas lanterns) and stars. The display will be put up in mid-November.

Silver metallic stars in varying sizes will also decorate the atriums of all Robinsons Malls. Floating in the background are blue LED lights. To lend a flash of color to the displays are slim ribbon-like elements framed by magenta LED rope lights.
