All about Wall Art

MANILA, Philippines - If, as they say, walls could speak, your walls will celebrate affordable beauty, elegance, and luxury with the new Living Direct Wall Art collection at Our Home.

Now available exclusively at Our Home, the place where one can get great designs at great prices, the Wall Art collection is a treasure trove of art pieces and finely crafted crafts from Europe and the United States.

There are one-of-a-kind oil paintings that capture panoramic scenes of urban landscapes, historical landmarks, and natural beauty as well as bold artworks of expression that represent different painting styles — from abstract to expressionism to realism.

The Living Direct Wall Art collection also has artifacts — beautifully framed handcrafted two-dimensional glass and metal artworks; as well as whimsical clocks made using age-old European techniques.

Our Home suggests the following tips in selecting and arranging wall art:

• Generally, large works of art work well with large pieces of furniture, but don’t be afraid of being more adventurous in mixing things up.

• A straight line isn’t always desirable. Trying hanging several works above a sofa with a curved back, following the curve in positioning the art. An odd numbered grouping tends to be more pleasing to the eye than a symmetrical even numbered arrangement.

• When you are doing a grouping, it is best to arrange all pieces first on a table or floor, and then sketch an outline to follow in hanging these.

• Use hangers designed for the weight of the wall art. A large or heavy piece may require two hangers. Use wall studs or special drywall hangers for added strength and security. Masonry screws work best with brick walls, while molding holds are perfect for plaster walls.
