We built this city on luxury and greenery

With a population of 12 million, Metro Manila has grown rapidly, randomly, and with very little master planning. The past four decades have seen this urban sprawl spreading to the south, beyond Makati, going even beyond Alabang.

And now Sta. Rosa, Laguna, has become the Makati of the south, a self-sustaining city that residents hardly need to go to Manila for their needs. Sta. Rosa has a rich mix of commercial centers, schools such as the Ateneo MBA School, St. Scholastica, La Salle and Brent, among others. Southern Luzon Medical Center is there and so are the headquarters of multinational corporations.

In Sta. Rosa, the timing is perfect to build a city within this city that will accommodate families and businesses that want to relocate in a safe and rational environment. And also discerning homeowners who are very particu- lar in their taste. The new city, called Sta. Elena, is being master planned and built by Vista Land, the country’s largest home-builder.

The architecture of Georgia Club is reminiscent of the lovely plantation homes in the American South.

Encompassing over 300 hectares, Sta. Elena is “the new South.” Sta. Elena has nine different themed subdivisions that residents can choose from, plus the upcoming UST and Centro Sta. Elena Commercial Area.

In such a sprawling development, Brittany Corporation, the high-end subsidiary of Vista Land, is giving the south a taste of lavish living. Old-world charm, the luxury of space, high-end finishes and distinctive architecture — all these elements are a right fit to discern- ing homebuyers wanting to live the good life.

Brittany is the only developer that is bring- ing luxury house-and-lot packages to Sta. Rosa. With meticulous planning and an eye for detail, Brittany is offering subdivisions called Belle Reve, Fontamara, Promenade, Au- gusta and Georgia Club. No doubt these will soon be the most exclusive and sought- after addresses south of Metro Manila.

What’s exciting about these subdivisions is that Brittany is behind them. The company has had a long experience in developing ex- clusive communities in the south — luxury communities, the kind that are a world apart and seemingly a world away from the hustle and bustle of Metro Manila.

Sta. Elena is not only about the future, it is also very much about today. One does not have to imagine how its master plan will look because the city is already there. Homeowners are already living in Sta. Elena and they can attest how lovely it is to live in safe, exclusive and secure communities, blossoming into en- vironments conducive to raising one’s family or enjoying one’s retirement.

Residents also love the fact that they are only minutes away from three of the country’s best golf courses, which are also rated among the best in Asia: The Sta. Elena Golf Club, The Country Club, and the Canlubang Golf and County Club, all rated among the best in Asia.

The Belle Reve community is dotted with several lovely pocket gardens.

With its master plan of building lush envi- ronments, and stunning houses, Brittany has committed to keeping the original surround- ings of every development, to build around century-old trees rather than taking them down — and to plant more trees and greenery.

Brittany’s latest offerings, Augusta and Georgia Club, are particularly lush. The idyllic Georgia Club is a 15-hectare community inspired by the American South. Georgia Club is a woodland with over 1,200 trees that are over 50 years old, including narra, mahogany, cacia and gmelina. With fresh air and unpolluted surroundings, residents are able to enjoy the outdoors as much as their own homes.

Adjacent to Georgia Club is Augusta, a 15-hectare community where you can design and build your own dream house. Augusta appeals to all sections of homebuyers as it offers lot cuts of varying sizes.

Indeed, things are looking up for the south. And Metro Manila may learn a thing or two from Sta. Elena.
