A delightful fashion show and auction
Malaysias top clothing brand British India celeb-rated life to its fullest recently at the North Court of Power Plant Mall, bringing in a fashionably fun gypsy-themed event filled with fab style, hosted by your columnist. The mood was set during the launch of its fall 2006 collection as belly dancers from the Gina-Jean Grey Dance Company bedazzled everyone with their gracefully orchestrated moves that heightened the free-spirited style of British India, which also turned into a party with a cause as a charitable auction of luxury items was officiated by yours truly for the benefit of the Philippine Cancer Society. Delectable churrasco dishes by Brazil-Brazil and sumptuous fares by Arlene Arces Cuillere were enjoyed by everyone while being auctioned away were a beautiful necklace from Jackie Dayrit Boncan of Milady Jewelry, which Ruth Vera won; watches donated by the most generous Raffy Florencio of Rafael Jewelry, such as the Officina del Tempo watch that was won by Karen Calayan, and a Technomarine watch that Dr. Manny Calayan surely enjoyed. Cinderella president Edgar Coronel, CEO Arthur Coronel, EVP Therese Santos, VP for merchandising Richie Santos, and marketing director Malou de Venecia were busy making sure that everyone who came to the British India fall 2006 event enjoyed the evening. Truly a most enjoyable evening and a successful event for the fight against cancer!
