Cultivating the Alabang culture

Southern Metro Manila is destined to be the next growth hub, thanks to the premier venue for social functions and business conferences, The Bellevue Hotel. The opening of The Bellevue Grand Ballroom heralds a new trend, changing the way southerners interact and do business in the area.

This venue for high-art events successfully staged "Sining Kontempo sa Bellevue," an art exhibit featuring Alabang artists, which was emceed by yours truly. Organized by The Bellevue Hotel’s marketing and communications director Ryan Chan and fully supported by general manager Patrick Chan in cooperation with art group Kontempo, the event was a testament to the hotel’s social and civic conscience. Held at the luxuriously appointed Bellevue Grand Ballroom, it served as a toast to southerners as well as a fundraising effort benefiting the local community. Highlighted by a delightful display and raffle of artworks, the event was also made more special with a lavish menu specially prepared by Bellevue’s executive chef Hans Peter Eckstein. It truly was an enchanting evening of artistic pleasures! Way to go, Bellevue!

Happy Bel-Air Fiesta
A three-day probinsiya-style party in the city, complete with kalesa, bandas, perya rides and tiangges, was held recently in Bel-Air Village. Pasinaya 2005 is a weekend festival of thanksgiving held every year and participated in by excited residents. This year’s fiesta was led by Constancia Lichauco, long-time Bel-Air barangay captain and Bel-Air Village Association president Ricardo Bautista, with creative direction coming from resident Susan Medina and director Floy Quintos.

Highlights of the fiesta were the household help and maintenance staff party called Bel- Air Idol, the classic perya rides, a Rustan’s fashion show, a rock concert, a vintage car show and motorcade. The celebration culminated with "Bel-Air, Kulay at Sayaw, Noon at Ngayon," a dance concert by residents spanning all age groups. It was undoubtedly a street party to end all street parties!

See you next year!
