Top PHL wedding suppliers ready for SG bridal fair

MANILA, Philippines – For Christine Ong-Te, the mission is clear: give our overseas kababayans all the help they need by giving them their dream Filipino wedding. Guided by this goal, Ong-Te will open the “SG Bridal Caravan Year 2” on August 17 at the Grand Ballroom of the Grand Park City Hall Hotel.

SG Bridal Caravan, the pioneering Philippine wedding event that inspired other groups to organize their own versions, boasts of a stellar roster of more than 50 of the best suppliers of the Philippine wedding scene. The suppliers have been personally invited and curated by Ong-Te to ensure that only the top-tier suppliers are included in the event.

“This year’s Bridal Caravan will be better because there will be more suppliers, double than last year. It’ll be more fun because our suppliers are the top suppliers of the industry,” said Ong-Te at the recent general assembly held at the Blue Leaf Filipinas.

Among the impressive list of supplier-participants is stylist Meg Amat of Eve and Co., a first-time participant of the event. For her, the SG Bridal Caravan is a way to showcase Filipino creativity at its finest.

“We’re preparing more exciting designs to show and offer the couples in Singapore. We are so excited,” Amat exclaimed.

Another supplier and first-time participant is makeup artist Gery Penaso of international brand Mac Cosmetics.

“I look forward to spending time with my fellow suppliers. Also, I’m preparing my portfolio by organizing a shoot and this is what I’ll share with my prospective clients in Singapore,” he excitedly shared.

Perhaps, one reason why the SG Bridal Caravan is now considered by many as the standard for international Filipino bridal fairs is because it is steeped in history and has continuously evolved throughout the years. From its origin as a small meet and greet session with Ong-Te for Filipinos based in Singapore in 2011 dubbed “Coffee with Christine,” it then grew into a mobile workshop named “Before I Do” in 2012. And in 2013, the first SG Bridal Caravan was held, attended by more than 300 couples and featured 205 bookings made by clients with the suppliers.

With Ong-Te again at the helm of this major event, ably backed by her industry friends, overseas Filipinos can truly have the blissful unions that they have always dreamed of…and worked hard for.

SG Bridal Caravan 2014 is being held in partnership with Wedding Essentials Magazine and in participation with online portal WeddingsAtWork.com.
