PAL employees laugh together, work better together

Flying high on laughter: PAL employees experience the highs of Laughter Yoga.

The third Laughter Yoga session  I conducted for PAL’s employees  was a Laughter Yoga session like no other.  Six years ago,  I conducted a Laughter Yoga session for   650 PNB employees at their headquarters  on Macapagal Avenue.  Ms.  Butch of PAL HR was passing by and  got curious when she saw the PNB employees laughing so happily, and gamely swaying their bodies, as we did some Laughter Yoga exercises.

Celebrating  PAL’s  75th anniversary this year, they decided to have an activity never done before — Laughter Yoga,  which the PAL employees eagerly anticipated.  I was commissioned to conduct four Laughter Yoga sessions to enable as many PAL  employees to attend.

The second Laughter Yoga session was conducted at their office, the third  one was held at the Data Computer Building, attended by some 165 employees.

The participants welcomed us so warmly, and I sensed their eagerness to learn and experience Laughter Yoga.  In no time at all,  they executed the Laughter Yoga  exercises with  super gusto like the Double Handshake Laughter, my fave Hearty Laughter which I told them was good for the mind, body and spirit. And how they loved the Lion Laughter, which is anti-aging,  anti-wrinkle, and good for the facial muscles! I was told that their medical  and other staff start their workday by doing some Laughter Yoga exercises, to start their day right, and make work pleasurable as they  strive to perform with utmost satisfaction.  As a result, they have become more appreciative and grateful for their work and other blessings in life — dwelling more on what they are and what they have.  In short, positive attitude has been enhanced, and optimism cultivated.

Jhun Vibar said, “It is very relaxing and a stress reliever, highly recommended for every human being!”

Mates Magnaye remarked, “It is a refreshing, great team activity, fun and easy to do with lots of benefits.”

Angie Tinsay gushed, “It is a very rejuvenating session! Indeed, laughter is the best medicine.”

Dahlia Monasterial said, “It is very enlightening, wish this could be a regular thing for PAL.”

Edge Canoza said, “Really effective, something to practice on our own.”

Finally, David Acosta enthused, “A refreshingly good experience!”
