Partners in work and in health

MANILA, Philippines - Moments that matter, lots of laughter, shared passions and wonderful travels together have made Lisa Ronquillo and Amy Palisoc feel a lot healthier and empowered. Having each other also brings a different kind of motivation and unbridled support in maintaining a healthy and happy life.

Going places together has somewhat become a sacred tradition for Lisa  and Amy. Their itchy feet and thirst for new discoveries elevated their friendship beyond the boardroom. Both are accomplished in their respective careers: Lisa is AVP for marketing while Amy is VP for corporate planning of the Bistro Group of Restaurants.

“We’ve known each other since 1994,” remark Lisa and Amy almost simultaneously. “We’ve maintained our friendship even outside of work and continue to respect our individualities,” says Lisa, 45. “We like each other’s company. Period,” counters Amy, 52, married with three children.

As two of the company’s top executives, they are not immune to stress and the rigors of a successful corporate career. Thus a good laugh, massage, and moderate exercise are always on their plate.

Their quest for “better vitamins” culminated in the USA four years ago when a common friend in San Francisco let them try a calcium supplement in soft, chewy candy form.  That was why they were so happy when CalChews was introduced in the Philippines last year. Now, they don’t have to look far to get their daily dose of this supplement that they like.

They appreciate CalChews, not only because it is delicious and convenient to take wherever they are, but because it contains 500 mg. of calcium and 400 IU of Vitamin D3. In addition, it has 40 mcg. of Vitamin K — a key ingredient which helps keep calcium in the bones where it should be, thus reducing the risk of calcium deposits in the arteries and soft tissues that can cause stroke and heart attack.

Like love at first bite, Amy and Lisa have to control themselves from popping more than one a day. “It’s like candy! You have to resist the temptation to take more than what you need,” quips Lisa. Meanwhile, Amy loves the supplement so much she bought CalChews for her 84-year-old mother last year.

CalChews comes in two delicious flavors — Rich Chocolate and Creamy Caramel — and is available in leading drugstores and supermarkets nationwide.
