How to have a superbod

MANILA, Philippines - You know there is a celebrity in the house when you see TV cameras and a lot of people shamelessly craning their necks. That the Patricia Hall of Annabel’s Restaurant in Quezon City, a popular place for showbiz presscons, was full to overflowing that particular Tuesday noon came as no surprise. The event was held to introduce talented actress Angel Locsin as Century Tuna’s newest celebrity endorser. She joins popular actor Derek Ramsay as spokesperson and advocate of Century Tuna’s healthy lifestyle campaign, promoting wellness and fitness as a way of life. Helping them also in the campaign are four new Century Tuna Superbods: Lea Yosalina, Jillian Lua, Renzie Ongkiko, and Van Vincent Leano, who were selected from hundreds of model hopefuls.

Even if you are no big fan of teleseryes or local films for that matter, chances are, you’d recognize Angel Locsin’s beautiful face. It’s that face that has made her a favorite cover girl of leading women’s and even men’s magazines. And that body. Only 25 years old, she has been named the country’s sexiest female celebrity. What more can we say?

“Not too many people know that Angel Locsin also has a sporty side,” says Angela Gamboa, senior product manager of the Century Pacific Group. Angel was a competitive swimmer before becoming a star. After joining showbiz, she got more active in challenging sports like muay thai, boxing, and diving. She does some muay thai moves in the Century Tuna TV commercial. “You can see that she has the right form,” Gamboa observes. She also enjoys watching wrestling, and lately, she’s into pole dancing, “in preparation for a role,” Angel says.

A good workout and exercise goes hand in hand with a healthy diet for a “healthy heart, mind, and body.”  Because of the demands of showbiz, however, she does not enjoy the luxury of time, Angel shares. Century Tuna provides the convenience of a quick, affordable, and healthy meal.

“Century Tuna is naturally rich in Omega-3 DHA that promotes brain function,” Gamboa explains. DHA are good fatty acids that make brain cell membranes flexible. It boosts brain performance, particularly for memory and problem solving. It also promotes a positive mood as well as well-being and relaxation. However, Omega-3 DHA cannot be manufactured by the body. It must be obtained daily through the diet, and the best source of DHA is fish.

The good thing about Century Tuna is that you can take it with rice or in a sandwich. You can have it in your pasta or in your salad. Or you can eat it by itself, straight from the can. “All in moderation,” Gamboa remarks. “Three cans a week would be just right.”

She was excited when she was asked to be an endorser of Century Tuna, Angel relates. “It’s really a great honor. We are promoting not only a product but a lifestyle, too. It’s a great opportunity to inspire others to adopt an active and healthy lifestyle.” So from super sexy, Angel has gone on to be a “superbod.”
