Tooth or consequence

Healthway Medical, the largest network of mall-based clinics in the country, and Lamoiyan Corporation, the Filipino-owned makers of Hapee toothpaste, signed a partnership that aims to bring dental health within the reach of the common Filipino through a promotional program that will make available to consumers free dental checkups through any of Healthway’s in-house dentists. Participating brands are Gumtect, Nightmint, Complete, Kiddie, and Extreme Clean. The activity hopes to highlight the importance of regular dental visits and emphasize the importance of oral health.

The promotional activity will run from October to December 2008 in Metro Manila. Free Dental Check Up stickers will be pasted on any of the participating Hapee brands and distributed in all SM (Super Value Inc. and Super SM Incorporated), South Supermarket, Landmark, Mercury, Watsons, and Robinsons Supermarkets within Metro Manila. Consumers can simply bring the empty cartons bearing the stickers to any of Healthway Medical’s six branches to avail themselves of the free dental checkup.

The partnership was due to the need to reinforce the direct correlation between dental health as being essential in maintaining overall good health and well-being among consumers.

“We are proud of this partnership with a successful and respected company like Lamoiyan. Like them, Healthway has been a strong advocate of making healthy living part of a person’s daily lifestyle. What we want to achieve with this program is for people to realize that keeping their teeth, gums, and mouth healthy is just as important as exercising, dieting, getting regular checkups,” said Carmie De Leon, vice president for sales and marketing of Healthway Medical.
