VILNIUS, Lithuania — A Lithuanian court has prohibited a 28-year-old man from using Facebook for four months after he was convicted of using the social media platform for fraudulent sales of cellphones.
The court on Friday said the defendant, identified only as Andrius A, posted ads for new iPhones on Facebook, but sent customers used and broken Nokia phones instead.
He was convicted of fraud and sentenced to four months of house arrest. The court authorized the probation service to ensure that he stays away from Facebook and other social media during that time.
