MANILA, Philippines – This new app just proves that not all countdowns are as exciting as counting the days before Christmas.
By collecting data on Apple’s Healthkit, an app called Deadline can predict your demise down to the last second.
Deadline claims that based on the date such as user's gender, date of birth, blood pressure, height, sleeping patterns and steps taken daily collected through Apple’s Healthkit app and a questionnaire that asks about your lifestyle, the exact time you are going to die can be predicted.
'Deadline' uses health information from its user to provide an estimated countdown of their death. Photo from itunes.
Despite having a gloomy implication, the app was created to ring a bell and remind the user that a person’s life is limited, therefore they should value their life more. Upon seeing the time drop down until a user's apparent death, the app is motivating and encouraging the users to adopt a healthier lifestyle in an effort to prolong life.
The new notification system included in the iOS 8.1 update will display the time left before the user’s predicted death on the iPhone's home screen, to make the reminder stronger and more effective.
The app costs £0.69 ($0.99) and is available now for Apple devices with iOS 8 or later.
