Samsung Galaxy SII leads the smartphone evolution

MANILA, Philippines - Samsung released the very first 4G mobile phone in the Philippines — the Samsung Galaxy SII.

Beautiful and powerful at the same time, the Samsung SII is the most coveted smartphone out in the market today. With the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core processor encased in a delightful 8.49mm-thin body and a Super AMOLED Plus screen, it is capable of things yet unsurpassed by others. It is, indeed, the faster, smarter, brighter, and slimmer choice.

It’s faster. The Samsung SII’s 4G HSPA+ connectivity boasts sharing capabilities yet unmatched by any other smartphone: faster web browsing, rapid downloads, and increased connectivity. With Kies Air, users can manage mobile content — like downloading photos, listening to music, sending text messages — from a web browser on their PC, via local WiFi connections. WiFi Direct also allows connections to wireless-enabled PCs and printers without the need for wireless access points. Add to that, Bluetooth 3.0 allows easy file transfers to and from other Bluetooth-compatible devices.

It’s smarter. The smartphone is also equipped with different hubs for different needs. The Social Hub Premium allows users to talk to anyone on their contacts list, in whichever way they want. With this, accessing e-mail, text messages, communication history, IMs, or status and updates from social networking sites are readily available. The Readers Hub, on the other hand, lets busy bookworms carry their e-books, magazines, or newspapers with convenience. This Hub provides 2.2 million books, along with 2,000 newspapers in 49 languages, and 2,300 magazines in 22 languages for any reader’s pleasure.

Samsung also introduced LivePanel, a collection of live web and application contents on a customizable home screen that users can design and lay out however they wish.

Now, multitasking is a breeze with powerful software that allows switching between applications effortlessly. And with Voice Command, users can call contacts, send text messages, or surf the web completely hands-free.

It’s brighter. Of course, such powerful software needs beautiful hardware. Outfitted with the most vivid mobile screen in the market — the Super AMOLED Plus — the Samsung SII does its 8mp camera and 1080p high definition camcorder great justice as users can view and record videos with absolute color brilliance in HD.

It’s slimmer. And only Samsung can pack a great punch in such a small package. The 8.49mm body proves that it’s the “small” things that count.

Mich Beluso, a student from University of Santo Tomas, also got her Samsung SII during the launch. Her aunt gave it as a gift to her for her birthday. After reading about it on Yugatech and on Pinoy Tech Blog, she was convinced that it is, indeed, the best smartphone out on the market. “Times are changing and I believe in constantly upgrading,” said Mich. “Technology is evolving so fast, so having the best is important. In this case, it’s the Samsung SII — it can send messages with Voice Command. Plus, I love Android!”

Gemma Montalvo, on the other hand, appreciates how the Samsung SII makes her life easier by helping her do things faster. Being in the field of advertising, she basically needed something that can keep up with her fast-paced lifestyle. “It’s number one,” said Gemma.

It all boils down to the Samsung Galaxy SII being the most full-featured smartphone anyone will ever own. It works with features that are relevant to everyday life.
