Hitachi lights up the Pinoy Christmas Wish Tree

MANILA, Philippines - In keeping with the spirit of love and generosity that is noticeably abundant during this part of the year, the Hitachi Group of Companies initiated the Hitachi Wish Upon a Tree, a Christmas wish tree-lighting ceremony held last Dec. 4 at South Arcade Area of The SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City. The worthwhile project, which espouses the values and advocacies of the Hitachi Group of Companies, is keen on giving the country a herald of a future shining with the brightest possibilities.

The Hitachi Group of Companies which participated include Hitachi Asia Ltd., Babcock-Hitachi (Philippines) Inc., Clarion Manufacturing Corporation of the Philippines, Hi-Eles Industrial Corporation, Hitachi Air Conditioning Products Philippines Inc., Hitachi Cable Asia Ltd.- Philippine Branch, Hitachi Cable Philippines, Inc., Hitachi Global Storage Technologies Philippines Corporation, Hitachi High-Technologies Pte. Ltd., Hitachi Industrial Machinery Philippines Corporation, Hitachi, Ltd.-Philippine Branch, Hitachi Plant Technologies, Ltd.-Philippine Branch Office, Hitachi Terminals Mechatronics Philippines Corporation, Hitachi Via Asia Pte. The night’s festivities kicked off with a Christmas by affair host, actress and singer Nikki Gil. Present during the special night were Hitachi company chiefs and stakeholders along with key company employees and media partners. After some inspiring words from Takaaki Heishi, president of Hitachi Industrial Machinery Phils. Corp. and chairman of Hitachi-Kai also known as Hitachi Group Meeting, a special surprise was laid before the guests as a “Christmas Gift” donation for the rehabilitation of victims of typhoon Ondoy and Pepeng was handed to the Philippine National Red Cross spearheaded by its representative Ibrahim Badiee, program officer and columnist and Makati Red Cross member Tessa Prieto-Valdes.

There were renditions of well-loved yuletide carols by the UP Concert Chorus and a bonus treat from Nikki Gil who sang her version of A Very Special Christmas. Tonight, at 6 p.m., different chorale groups will perform by the Hitachi Christmas wish tree.

 In its continuous efforts to make people’s lives bright, joyful and easy Hitachi, which literally means “sunrise,” proves to be worthy of its name.
