MANILA, Philippines - First impressions last and the last thing you want people to remember is a sharp receding hairline or a shiny bald spot. This especially holds true when you’re in showbiz. Take it from actor, comedian and TV host Edu Manzano who had to do something before his forest of hair got noticeably denuded. He turned to the revolutionary lean, keen ARTAS robotic machine at The Hair Restoration clinic of the Aivee Group. “It was nothing I imagined. I had the procedure done in March and the total experience was about five hours. I really didn’t have any expectations as ARTAS is a revolutionary concept and is only being introduced in the Philippines. While the machine is intimidating, the experience is manageable,” says Edu, joking that the only discomfort to endure is driving out to the Fort.
With no pain and no downtime, Edu even went on to tape his teleserye right after treatment. Hair transplants need not be a long, tedious and torturous procedure anymore. The ARTAS robotic hair surgery method is a long-term procedure that is quick and effective in contrast to traditional methods. “The attention to detail is superb. It was everything the doctor told me it would be. After the procedure was performed on me I’ve been back only a couple of times so the doctor can see the growth pattern. And both times I left (the clinic) smiling. I still have a few more months to wait before I can fully appreciate the procedure, but I can see hair growth in areas that were barren before I came to The Aivee Institute,” shares Edu who gives an above-satisfactory testimony of the ARTAS.
The ARTAS Robotic surgery allows the procedure to be done in a more precise and consistent way, ultimately maximizing the growth of the hair grafts. This hair transplant is a type of hair restoration procedure where donor hair is removed directly from the back and sides of the scalp using robotic control called Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). FUE is time consuming and tedious when done manually. Plus, it often leads to significant injury to the follicles. In a robotic FUE hair transplant, follicular units are extracted one at a time by the image-guided, computer-driven system. The procedure is remarkably better in terms of speed and precision using the robotic system, as opposed to relying on (imperfect) human hands.
Celebrity or not, anyone can benefit from the ARTAS-driven procedure, which aims for excellence.
