Feast for the senses at The Gourmand Market

Dara Roa, known as the Collab Contessa, and Trish Panlilio of NawwTys Kitchen, are the organizers of The Gourmand Market.

Trish Panlilio of NawwTys Kitchen and Dara Roa, known as the Collab Contessa, are cooking up something very exciting this coming March 27 to 29 at the gardens of Central Square in Bonifacio High street. I know these two beautiful ladies as very meticulous and very detailed when it comes to preparing presentations and just presenting things in general, whether it is a table setting, a display of products, or a food dish. They will not ever present it without fixing it or making sure it looks pretty and pleasing to the eye. Every single thing I get from Trish is always so beautiful: a flower in a basket, her invitations, her tablescapes, and her dishes.

Whenever I visit the garden of Trish it’s always a pleasant and lively experience. They create this atmosphere of brightness, liveliness, cheerfulness, and most importantly, an atmosphere of love. And you cannot just create that atmosphere without the right people to put everything together and the collaboration between friends. The collaboration between talents is always an ingredient to success. Everything that is done with love and passion shows in the final product, and that is what Trish and Dara have put together for The Gourmand Market. Aside from choosing delicious food products, all of them come in beautiful packaging. And even if there have been many outdoor markets already in the past, this one will be different.

I asked them how this idea came about and they told me that they wanted to have something like the Borough Market in London and so they presented their idea to BGC and they liked it and even offered to sponsor it. For now, there are about 40 vendors who will be joining the market. And, according to Dara, it is not going to be a weekly or a monthly market, but only a twice-a-year market — one before summer and one during the holidays. She feels that people will not look forward to it if it happens too often, but who knows, maybe the market will demand for it. I met a few of the vendors and many of them are very young, relatively new and have just started, so chances are you might not have seen them nor tasted. Save the date! The first Gourmand Market will be held from March 27 to 29, Friday to Sunday at C1 Park, Bonifacio High Street Central (fronting Central Square/Cinema Building).
