Dutch DJs host donate and dance benefit show for Yolanda victims

MANILA, Philippines - DJs Ferry Corsten, Quintino, Blasterjaxx, Dennis Ruyer, Jacob Van Hage, Marco V, Sandro Silva, Sied van Riel, and Oliver Twizt played to raise funds for the victims of the super-storm in the Philippines. The benefit show held last Nov. 20 was held in the club Panama in Amsterdam. Proceeds of the event will be donated to the Dutch calamity fund GIRO 555.

Ferry Corsten, the DJ who initiated this event, has a close relationship to the Philippines: “It breaks my heart to see what has happened in the Philippines. My wife is Filipino, our daughter is half-Filipino, and of course we have many family and friends who live there, who have been directly affected by the typhoon. Hundreds of thousands have lost everything and are in urgent need of help. This is why the benefit ‘Donate and Dance’ has been set up. We are so happy that so many DJs have reacted positively to this event and been able to set this up in a few days.”

The benefit show #Donateanddance has received, on behalf of GIRO 555, a total amount of 35,798 euros.

“On behalf of all the Filipinos around the globe, we love all of you and your efforts to help the victims of typhoon Hayian,” Lia and Ferry Corsten shared. “Together we make a difference. Thank you for helping them rebuild their lives.”
